Over the years, I've stayed in many hotels. Some of them have been extremely nice and others have been pretty scary - horrible staff in a building that was close to falling apart. I love traveling or simply making a weekend getaway into the city, but I could do without the hotel atmosphere. It just isn't "home".
I have, also, stayed at a few vacation rental homes. My favorite was a condo outside of St. Louis. The Illinois vacation rental provided us with not only a beautiful, homey condo for the week, but also came with access to a Walleyball court, fireplace, washer/dryer, espresso maker, gas BBQ, private swimming pool and so much more. We were even provided with a ton of board games, puzzles and videos to go through on our down time. It was definitely one of our most memorable vacations.
Next summer, I'm hoping to get a bunch of girlfriends together and find a California vacation rental around Lake Tahoe. A long weekend of laying on the beach, pampering, parasailing and even a bit of shopping. I can't wait!
